This will involve deep engagement at an individual and industry-wide level with the education system, Māori and Pasifika-led training providers, and social service providers to rebuild the workforce development pipeline. This could include:
Training partnerships and direct hiring collaborations with training providers, universities, and schools, especially supporting STEM pathways.
Thinking differently about attraction to an industry for people who have no experience or social capital within the industry.
Sector-wide coordination over workforce development planning. Download Employer Landscape Report.
Non-traditional pathways into an industry that allow for in-work training e.g. professional apprenticeships.
